Refund Policy

You can request a refund within 14 days of purchase if your download didn't work, the file was faulty, you bought the wrong product by mistake, or the book was materially different from how it was described.
Change of mind requests are reviewed case by case within the same 14 day window on an honour system.
Your statutory rights under Australian Consumer Law, EU consumer law and UK consumer law are not affected by this policy.
What we sell
Spacemance sells digital fiction by Sera Voss, currently The Starfall Accord in standard ebook and enhanced HTML editions.
These are downloadable digital products delivered immediately after purchase via your confirmation email and your account dashboard.
By completing your purchase you acknowledge that you are buying a digital product that is delivered immediately.
In line with the EU Consumer Rights Directive Article 16(m), you waive your standard 14 day withdrawal right once the download has been initiated.
This waiver does not remove the protections set out below or override any stronger rights you have under your local law.
Who handles your payment
All purchases on spacemance.com are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record.
This means Lemon Squeezy is the legal seller for billing, tax and refund processing purposes.
Spacemance, operated from Australia, is the publisher of the content.
When you request a refund we approve it from our end, and Lemon Squeezy processes the actual return of funds to your original payment method.
When we'll refund you
We will issue a full refund within 14 days of purchase if any of the following apply.
Your download link didn't work, the file is corrupt, pages are missing, or you can't access the product you paid for and we can't fix the issue within a reasonable time.
You bought the wrong edition by mistake, for example the standard ebook when you wanted the enhanced edition, and you have not used the product you bought.
You were charged twice for the same product.
The book is materially different from how it was described on the sales page.
You started reading and decided the book isn't for you.
Contact us within 14 days. We generally honour reasonable requests where you have engaged with less than roughly 20% of the book.
This is an honour based system. We monitor refund requests for patterns that suggest abuse.
When we can't refund you
We can't generally refund you in the following situations.
- You have owned the book for more than 14 days and there is no fault with the product.
- You have substantially read or completed the book and your only reason for the request is change of mind.
- You have shared, copied or distributed the file in violation of the licence terms.
- We have evidence the request is part of a pattern of refund abuse.
If your local consumer law gives you stronger rights than the limits above, those stronger rights apply.
How to request a refund
Email us at hello@spacemance.com with the subject line “Refund request”.
Please include three things.
- Your order number, found in your purchase confirmation email.
- The email address you used at checkout.
- One or two sentences on why you're requesting a refund.
We aim to respond within 2 business days.
If we approve your refund, Lemon Squeezy will process it within 5 to 10 business days back to your original payment method.
You will receive a confirmation email when the refund is processed.
Once your refund is approved, we ask that you delete any downloaded files from your devices.
Chargebacks
If you have a problem with your purchase, please contact us first.
Most issues can be resolved quickly and politely by email.
Please don't go straight to your bank. Filing a chargeback before contacting us costs us additional fees and can result in your account being restricted from future purchases.
If a chargeback is filed without prior contact, we reserve the right to revoke access to any products purchased and decline future orders.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits or replaces the rights you have under applicable consumer law.
Australian customers
Our products come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the products replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
EU customers
Your rights under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and your local consumer law continue to apply.
The exception is that you waive your standard 14 day withdrawal right once you initiate download of the digital content, as set out in Article 16(m).
UK customers
Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 continue to apply.
This includes the right to a refund or replacement where digital content does not match its description, is not of satisfactory quality, or is not fit for purpose.
Other jurisdictions
Your local consumer protection laws apply where they give you rights stronger than those set out in this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time.
The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
Material changes will not apply retroactively to purchases already made.
